(September, 29th, 2001) - Several of the videos are online again. They will be available on a rotating basis with a different set of vids up every couple of months. Please see the videos section for further details.
On another note, there are rumours that CYF's next film, BULLETPROOF MONK, has begun filming in Toronto. No confirmation on this yet, but you can see the handiwork of Monk's director, Paul Hunter, in YOU ROCK MY WORLD which is Michael Jackson's new music video/short film. It is viewable online at http://www.michaeljackson.com.
By the way, a
of CROUCHING TIGER HIDDEN DRAGON is coming out soon. It is part of Sony's Superbit collection, which aims for the highest video and audio quality. To accomplish this however, they remove all the extra features (audio commentaries, documentaries, etc) from the DVD. So it's up to you to decide whether you want the feature-loaded version with slightly lower video/audio quality, or the
highest quality video/audio version without any extra features.
(August 8th, 2001) - The videos are no longer available at Freedrive. Please check back here in late September. I may have the videos available again at that time. Meanwhile, please click here for info on two upcoming CYF movies of which you've probably not heard.
(June 24th, 2001) - Freedrive is massively scaling back its free service (only 5MB of storage, instead of 20MB) in early July. As a result, the videos will become unavailable. Please get your requests to access the files in soon (Email email@example.com to request access). Once Freedrive is finished, it may be a while before I have time to set the files up again elsewhere.
(April 6th, 2001) - The website is back after Tripod's mad rash of accidental website deletions. However, it's not all good news: Freedrive, where all my videos are stored,
is ending its free service on May 2nd, 2001. Thus, please make all requests for Freedrive access. The videos may not necessarily be available afterwards.
(January 23rd, 2001) - Wouldn't you know it? As soon as the videos are up and running smoothly again, another problem arises. Now, it seems FreeDrive has cancelled their public file sharing service. If you have already accessed the CYF Archive video folders in the past then you have nothing to worry about. Your access is still available. However, if you haven't signed up yet, the process to receive access has become more complicated. You must email me at firstname.lastname@example.org to request access. I will then send a private invitation which will give you access. You still must create a FreeDrive account and all that, it's merely one extra step at the beginning.
(January 9th, 2001) - Hello all! Due to overwhelming demand, I have finally figured out a way to host the large videos again. Please see the videos section for details. Be aware that the long-promised Jackie Chan video is not available and is unlikely to be in the near future. Technical difficulties are to blame.
Also, CYF has made it to the cover of Entertainment Weekly (a MAJOR entertainment magazine in North America)! See the pictures section for a cover scan from the issue in question. I hope this will tide everyone over until I find more time to properly tend to the site. Remember to go see Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon! It's great!
(September 19th, 2000) - I guess you guys saw this coming, but I no longer have time to maintain this site. The usual culprits are to blame: Work, school, responsibilities, etc. Around the end of the year, I hope I will be able to fix all the broken video links (need server hosting space!) and add the long-promised Jackie Chan videos. REPEAT: Many of the videos are unavailable. Until then, thanks for all your support and I wish you all the best. -Kevin
